PageSpeed Sampler

PageSpeed Sampler

Finds a site's sitemap, groups the URLs into collection types, samples up to 10 pages per collection (100 max) with key pages pinned, measures each one with the Google PageSpeed Insights API, then averages the results. Add up to four sites to benchmark a client against its competitors, page role by page role. Runs entirely in your browser.

Setup

Domain or any page on the site; the sitemap is looked up from its origin. Add up to four. The first is treated as yours and everything else is measured against it.
Stored only in this browser. Get a free key. Without one Google throttles hard and most runs fail.
Sampling and run options
A single Lighthouse run swings several points between identical executions. More runs cost proportionally more quota and give a per-page number you can defend when a client re-runs it.
Calls run concurrently up to this width. The run opens at 40 in flight and climbs or backs off on its own, since Google's Lighthouse pool, not the 240/min quota, is the real ceiling.
Seconds. Whatever else happens, discovery for one site ends here and the run continues on whatever was collected.
Median by default: one catastrophic page should not decide which collection gets named the weakest. The other is always shown beside it.
Both means two API calls per URL.
Performance is always measured. SEO costs nothing extra per call and returns crawlability, canonical, hreflang, titles and structured data across every sampled page.
Direct fetch is tried first; proxies only if the site blocks it.
Prefilled with this deployment's client. To point the Sheets export at your own Google Cloud project instead, replace it: create a Web application OAuth client, add to its authorised JavaScript origins, and paste the ID here. A client ID is a public identifier, not a secret. The Excel export needs none of this.
Pinned rather than read from the clock, so regenerating a report from the same measurements produces byte-identical output.
Appears on the method tab. Prepared-by line is fixed to Jake Labate, SEO Consultant.
One URL per line. Used on its own if discovery fails, or merged in if discovery works.
